I have a user who just updated Skype for Business from Lync on her Mac. We can also open a shared calendar for the user on the same profile without issue. The status for the calendar will alternate between " Sync Pending for this folder", or "Calendar: Downloading". Confirm that the EWS URL that the Lync client uses is correct.
